January 21st 2019 marked the 5th birthday for coffee2go innovator eXpresso PLUS.
Looking back at the last five years we’re feeling proud of our many achievements but also excited for what the next five years will bring.
Growth Worth Celebrating
According to the Allegra World Portal, we saw a whopping 17% bump in the number of coffee2go machines in the market between 2016 and 2017. That certainly rings true for us. eXpresso PLUS has grown at an average of 42% year-on-year. We think that’s something to celebrate!
In our first year out of the gate we provided premium bespoke coffee2go solutions for 195 new sites. For each one of those sites we got to know the customer and their unique set-up, designed coffee2go solutions for them and built a lasting relationship. Five years later that number has swelled to 565. Plus, we’ve recently entered the Irish and Scottish markets so we’re brewing relationships there too.
Looking back on our journey of growth, we are exceptionally proud of our partners and collaborators. Like us, Lavazza, Nescafé, PG tips & Yorkshire Tea all stay one step ahead of market trends and never compromise on quality.
Similarly, collaborating with industry-leading partners meant we have never had to compromise on quality. A milestone in the eXpresso PLUS story was the design and creation of the Lavazza Eleganza coffee tower. Built to our precise spec, this high-tech tower was our response to the shifting coffee2go market place. Thanks to our forward-looking customers, like McColl’s and Southern Co-op, it’s been a huge success.
So we’re raising a glass (or cup of coffee, in our case) to our partner brands, collaborators and loyal customers. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Exciting Times Ahead
eXpresso PLUS was born from a desire to bring high end coffee-shop style hot drinks to people wherever and whenever they wanted them. Now that concept is the norm.
As our role has shifted from challenger to market leader, our ambitions now encompass raising the bar for the drinks2go industry as a whole. As ever, we’re identifying trends in the coffee2go market and innovating for what consumers will want in the future.
One of the loudest consumer trends in coffee2go has been sustainability and environmental concerns. Did you know, in December 2017 Argos sold 537% more reusable cups than the previous year*? That’s a pretty monumental leap in sales but it comes as no surprise to us. At eXpresso PLUS we’ve been steadily working towards an exciting breakthrough. This year we will release our new range of re-usable cups, each one made from recycled plastic cups. To pre-order click here.
That’s just one of many inspiring new product developments lined up for the year ahead. The rest are under wraps for now but watch this space!
To kick off 2019 in style we’ve launched our shiny new website, with a bold look and feel to echo our bold ambitions. And we’ve got a fresh eXpresso PLUS logo in the works to celebrate our 5th anniversary and define our brand as we catapult forward.
